Affiliated to the national museum of Nature and Science, the Institute for Nature Study is a hidden forest in the center of Tokyo you can visit!

Do you want to know more?
Located few minutes walking from the bustling Meguro station, the Institute for Nature Study is a haven of peace and calm in the middle of the city.
This site which was the home of feudal lord 600 years ago, then a imperial park, has been transformed into the Institute for Nature Study in 1949.
On the behalf of studying Japanese nature, this land has been turned into a forest.
There’s many explanations about how the forest is changing with the times.
All the trees and plants are from Japan, and there’s many animals living on their own as well.
Excepting the path for visitors, the forest has very little assistance from humans.
Don’t expect here meticulously grown flowers, since the goal is to recreate wildlife.
The Institute for Nature Study is quite unknown, so this is the perfect place if you can to spend some time without the Tokyo crowd.
