In Japan, the term coin laundry is very popular among its citizens.
This term (read as koin randorii in literal Japanese pronunciation) refers to the convenient laundry machines that operate automatically with simply inserting a couple of coins.
The picture above shows a coin laundry located just 20 meters from where I live!
At first I wondered how it could go on, forever!
It is full of security cameras, machines, books and chairs to sit on while waiting for the laundry.
There are three types of machines here; the washing machines, the drying machines, and at some places the multi-functional washing & drying machines.

Relax however, I’m going to tell you how to use all these 3 machines, one by one

At first, it is important to know the difference between a washing machine & a drying machine.
The Kanji for washing machine is (洗濯機/せんたくき/sentakuki); and for drying machines it is (乾燥機/かんそうき/kansouki).

1. Make sure that there is no dirty laundry inside the machine
2. Insert the coins needed (250Yen for 4.5 kg)
3. And then, press the シャワ (shawaa/shower) button to rinse the insides of the machine (10 seconds).
4. Finally after the lamp for ふたロック(Cover lock) is out, we put the dirty laundry inside the machine.
Finally we can put the laundered clothes into the dryer for getting it crisp-dried.
These two machines are already convenient themselves, but the two-functional washing & drying machine is extremely convenient!
It washes and dries dirty laundry only in one cycle.
The procedure for this one is the simplest:
1. Press the red button for rinsing the insides of the machine.
2. Put the dirty laundry into the machine.
3. Choose one of the four options given
a. 10kg for 65 minutes of washing & drying for 1000Yen
b. 4kg for 50 minutes of washing & drying for 800Yen
c. 17kg of washing only for 800Yen
d. 10kg of 8 minutes of drying only for 100Yen
4. Finally close the cover and inset the required amount of money.
There is also another problem that might occur inside the coin laundry; what if we you have enough coins and only paper money?
The solution is this!
You can just put your paper money on the left or 500Yen coin on the right and 5 or 10 coins of 100Yen will be changed out of the box below.
Amazing!
And what if we get bored while waiting for the laundry?
Here is the solution : you can often find mangas and magazines that you can read while doing the laundry!
