Tokyo is a big city with a lot of people who has many different tastes. 

Harajuku is one of the district where constantly produces pop youth subculture. It is the center of “kawaii” culture. “Kawaii” means cute in Japanese. 

That’s where Kawaii Monster Cafe just opened in August 1st.

The cafe is produced by the Japanese art director

who also directed Japanese pop and fashion icon

’s stage.

First you arrived in front of the entrance, you will be greeted by this colorful goggle-eyed monster called “choppy”. It almost feel like going to an amusement park! So excited! 

Not like going to a cafe at all. 

I was explained by a waitress that the concept of this cafe is going into choppy’s stomach. 

And then, I was asked “Are you ready for this craziness?”

As soon as you entered, you will be surprised how colourful it is. 

An actual revolving merry-go-round in the shape of a lavishly decorated cake and Lady Gaga-like waiter was right there and waiting for you. 

It makes you feel like you walked into Alice in Wonderland world.

The fun has just begun. 

You get to sit in mushroom shaped colorful seats.

Can you guess what this is?

It is actual pasta with 5 different tasted sauce. 

It might be hard to believe, but this actually tasted really good.

It was definitely one of the kind experience. 

I strongly recommend to go to this cafe if you were a fan of kawaii pop culture.
