Kyu-Furukawa garden is one of the most famous gardens of Tokyo.
Located just north of central Tokyo between Ôji and Komagome station, this old garden was found by a politician back in the Meiji period, Mutsu Munemitsu.

The garden is divided in two distinct parts, a western rose garden and a traditional Japanese garden.

Hoping that you liked the western part we presented you last time, today let’s discover the traditional Japanese garden.

Since it’s a Japanese garden, it might look wild compared to the strictly symmetric western garden, but in fact, every detail of this garden is meticulously organised.

You can find many small areas with themes, like bamboos, small mountain, a pond and so on.

The owner of the garden brought many elements from different regions and periods, like the lanterns.

Even though the surface is not that big, Japanese gardens have sinuous and labyrinthic small paths to give the visitor the longest walk possible to enjoy many landscapes.
