Sweet & Juicy! Japanese fruit is different! ~ Grapes

The selling point of fruits which are produced in Japan is their high quality. The price is high, but there is no need to worry about food safety. It is a “luxurious” life rooted in Japanese culture from long ago where high-quality fruit is given as a gift. In Japanese cuisine, fruits are treated as ‘sweets’ or desserts. Recently, there are also foreigners who ordered Japanese fruits after returning to their country. This time, we will take a look at grapes, which are treated as dessert from their fragrance, as an example to approach the charm of Japanese fruits!

Differences Between Japanese Grapes and Other Asian Country's Grapes

Most of the grapes in Japan are Kyoho (巨峰) grapes, with 2nd and 3rd place going to Delaware and Pione. The Kyoho grape is characterized by an exquisite balance with a refreshing sour taste and a rich sweetness. Delaware, small seed with reddish purple skin, has a refreshing taste with strong sweetness and a moderate sourness for balance. Pione is rich in fruit juice and it features a refreshing taste with strong sweetness and a refreshing sour taste.

How to Choose Delicious Grapes & Serving Method

The skin is dark and firm. The freshness decreases if the fruits have fallen from the stems. Put them in a bag and store within vegetable compartments to prevent the grapes from drying out. The grapes will damage faster if they are wet so only wash when you going to eat them.
