No, wait, it’s spring, people! 
It’s the hanami season. Time to watch the sakura, day and night!

On this article, I am going to share this awesome hanami viewing spot with you guys.



Located in the Yasukuni Temple 靖国神社 (Yasukuni Jinja), the closest station is 九段下駅 (Kudanshita eki), take the Exit no.1. And just go straight, you will see a big gate of the temple. 

桜ライトアップ (Sakura raitoappu) / Sakura light-up, is the combination of Sakura and illumination, and it’s pretty cool. 

See the photo below, the sakura flowers appear as they are golden coloured.



The sakura light-up in the Yasukuni Temple is a part of Sakura Matsuri, which was being held from late March to early April.



Apparently, you won’t be alone! Many people are going to the sakura matsuri, yes, at night. 
And the food stands (takoyaki, yakisoba, fried potatoes, wiener, soft drinks, etc.) are here for us, I am going to say that you don’t even have to worry about preparing foods and drinks. 

There are also a lot of tables and chairs, prepared for the hanami-goers, but chances that you are going to find a couple of empty seats in no time is really low.
Many office workers, or as we call them in Japan, salaryman will also be there with us, because they just finished working. 





Or you can just bring a plastic sheet and sit, right below the sakura. 
Notice that there are spaces for sitting, and spaces for walking, I want to remind you guys to obey the rule, remember, it is a temple.

Oh and the rule also said that you are not allowed to do hanami after 10 PM, so make sure you have your stuffs cleaned up by that time, keep the temple clean, it’s a sacred place.
