Some people believe Ninja is just a legend…, me too.
Until I visited the Ninja Museum in Iga city in Mie Prefecture, now I know Ninja is not just a legend. They really exist, they use real weapons like a sword, sickle, rope, shuriken, and they have ninja techniques as well!
In the Ninja Museum, you can learn a lot about Ninja.
But first, let’s enter one of the ninja’s houses.

Ninja’s duty wasn’t to fight or kill the enemies, but to gather information as a scout or a spy.
That’s why they are fast and wear black clothes.
Their houses are built with many secrets, like a secret door so they can go through their house quickly.
It’s also equipped with secret compartment in the floor or the wall, and many more!
Answer in the comment below!

Although Ninja is not meant to fight, they actually can fight as well when needed.
In the Ninja Museum, you can watch them fight!
Of course, it’s just for a show, but the weapons and techniques they use are real!

The sword used is also very sharp.
With the technique combined, he can cut the bamboo in quick succession with no fiber.
It’s a very clean and sharp cut!

Ninja’s clothes is similar with a farmer’s clothes, minus the mask.
You can imagine how those ninjas camouflaged themselves as farmers and cutting the grass with a sickle, then suddenly sneaking behind you… and knock you down.

Ninja’s clothes also have many pockets to keep their weapons with them, so they don’t need to carry bags around.
The weapons are small, but very effective in doing their job.

A normal rope is usually used to tie something, but with the right technique, it can beat a sword!

After the show, now let’s take a look around the museum some more.
In here, you can learn that there are several types of shuriken, the clothes, the weapons they use, and the techniques.

What do you think of this trick to know what time it is by looking at a cat’s eye?

Can you lift this 60 kg bale of rice?
This is one of the trainings that Ninja must do so they are able to lift their body just by using two fingers!

There are many more things I want to show you, but it’s better if you come here yourself and enjoy learning about ninja.
After all, I don’t want to spoil all the fun for you.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to climb a mountain and pass through some hills like in Ninja Hattori’s opening song.
