Although not commonly known to be the most soothing and relaxing destination for your vacation, Tokyo has one of the most beautiful and breath-taking nature spots around the country.

One of them, is Todoroki Valley.

What makes Todoroki Valley all the more special is the fact that it resides along a completely normal, very densely populated if anything, area of Tokyo: Setagaya.

Just like the other spots that made it to this list, it is rare to find an untouched piece of nature in the metropolitan part of Tokyo.
And to find even a slightest bit of forest in the city where people are literally living on top of each other, is unheard of.

Todoroki Valley is just that.

The approximately 1km long stream and the forest residing it provides a swift breeze of nature to the neighboring area.

Despite its surroundings where new houses and residents come and go, Todoroki Valley has remained untouched since 1936 when they built a stone brink.
The valley and its stream is said to have been found over 900 years ago, and has remained that way ever since.

As much as it is a great hideout for Tokyoites, it is also one of the few places where you could find the true natural landscape of Tokyo.

A temple resides along the Valley, Todoroki Fudo-son.
Despite its location, there are only a handful of people coming and passing. It helps keep the peaceful atmosphere of the Valley, as well as the spiritual feel.

If you are tired of urban city life, Todoroki is the ultimate hide out for you.
