They are so popular that they always have a long line from opening to closing time every day. Loved by locals, the place is indeed the place you must go when you are in Osaka. You cannot miss Aiduya if you love Takoyaki. Aiduya is the birthplace of Takoyaki. Yes, everything was started here. What is unique about this place is that they don’t put Takoyaki sauce on top. Do you wonder about the taste? Don’t worry. Because their takoyaki has deep flavor of dashi, the fish broth. With one bite, you feel the perfect harmony of octopus and their dashi.

Wanaka is probably the best takoyaki place loved by locals. They always have a long line though don’t worry since it is not a restaurant, but a stand. Thus, you will not be on the line as you might expect. Their dough uses bonito and konbu, seaweed broth. Like Aiduya, you don’t actually need any sauce and their takoyaki tastes great as it is. However, they do have some fancy choices of toppings so you should add the sauce anyways. Kamataki-shio, a homemade flavor salt is our recommend. They use Okinawan salt and that will add deepness on their takoyaki.
