Lee’s Travelog – What To Eat While In Osaka’s Dotonbori, My Top Picks

Hello dear friends! Today, I will be writing about what to eat while in Dotonbori. We all know Dotonbori as the place where the Glico running man resides. However, do you know that the whole street is also a foodie heaven? Below are some of my top picks for a night of feasting.

Creo-ru Takoyaki

It is difficult to ignore the lines always present outside of Creo-ru. Not only are the takoyaki’s delicious, they are also very affordable! 500 yen will get you 6 pieces of freshly made takoyaki-balls. For the adventurous, there are also special flavors like salt and lemon. You can also ask for a soft boiled egg and lots of scallions as toppings for your takoyaki.

Kinki Yakitori

There is just something extremely comforting about consuming a skewer of freshly grilled chicken on a cold autumn night. Each skewer costs less than 200 yen and also comes freshly grilled. The staff is extremely friendly and will not hesitate to banter with you so be ready for a good time!

Kinryu Ramen

Kinryu, or Golden Dragon Ramen, is one of the more established ramen shops in Dotonbori. In fact, if you look closely, you can actually find 3 separate branches along the whole road! Eating here is fuss free and the service quick. Order the Tonkotsu ramen and be sure to top it with heaps of delicious homemade kimchi.
