Queen of breakfast in Tokyo

A bowl of rice ball, warm miso soup, grilled fish, egg rolls and Japanese cucumber pickles.
This is a typical Japanese breakfast.
Waking up with the smell of cooking makes me feel at home and relaxing.
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.
I feel like I can have the special day when I start off with a nice big breakfast.
Every country has their own style of comforting breakfast meals.

I heard there is a woman called the Queen of breakfasts.
Sarabeth Levine “the Queen of breakfasts in New York City” opened her third restaurant in Shinagawa, Tokyo in summer of 2014.

Of course, I had to go and try it.
Standard breakfast is available not just in the morning, but all day long, including the Classic Eggs Benedict and fluffy French toast.

Located at Atre Shinagawa which is connected right to the station.
Inside of the restaurant is modern and chic style, and there is a big window for the natural light to come through.

It was lunch time when I got there, but packed with mostly women ordering breakfasts menu.

The most popular dish is the Classic Eggs Benedict.
Sarabeth’s is the reason why Eggs Benedict has become trend in Japan.
Perfectly poached eggs, smoked ham, homemade creamy Hollandaise sauce and muffins.

I ordered this “Egg in a Nest”.
It is only available in Shinagawa branch.

Mashed potato with the scent of the truffle oil underneath deep fried crispy mushrooms and lotus roots.
Poached egg on top of it.
Break the egg and mixed them all together, eat it with grilled bacon, lettuce and a piece of toasted bread.

Had a quality time with graceful breakfast at lunch.
It is nice to have non-Japanese European style Breakfast once in a while.
I just love breakfast!
