The Beautiful of Hie Shrine

This is my first time to visit this beautiful shrine in the middle of bustling big city Tokyo. I was very amazed that old shrine can be so stunning and good taken care of without lost its originality in very sophisticated era.



Despite of that, I was very surprised when I saw the orange beautiful tori gate on the stairway through the small hill. It reminded me of my last year japan trip when I visited famous Fushimi Inari Jinja in Kyoto. Which also means that if you don’t enough time to visit Kyoto you can visit Hie shrine as a good option.


This shrine also a place to celebrate one of the 3 great festivals of Edo which call Sanno Matsuri on every 15 June. Sanno Hie jinja is one of the important shrine the status as guardian deity of Edo castle and the current imperial residence.
It’s quite easy access to reach this shrine by taking Subway lines as below :
1. From Tameike Sanno Station on Tokyo Metro Ginza lines (4minutes walk 220m)
2. From Akasaka Mitsuke Station on Tokyo Metro Ginza line (5minutes walk 750m)
3. From Akasaka Station on Tokyo Metro Chiyoda line (6minutes walk 450m)
4. From Nagatacho Station on Tokyo Metro Yurakucho line (8minutes walk 700m)
