Naruko Gorge is rich in vegetables and fish grown in the nature. There are many restaurants that offer menus utilizing these food ingredients into mouth-watering dishes.



Gin-no-saji is located inside the perimeter of the hot spring town. You can savour western food in this restaurant in a relaxed atmosphere. We recommend you to try their Wagyu steak and crab cream croquette. The side dish vegetables are also delicious.

Fujiya Shokudo


For this cafeteria, our recommended dish is the authentic soba. Tempura can also be served together. Make sure to bring an empty, stomach, because the portions are great!  You can also enjoy their dish called "Sansai Tororo Soba" with plenty of mountain vegetables and their Onsen tamago are also popular for their deliciousness.

Access to Naruko Gorge from airport

It takes about 1 hour flying from Haneda Airport to Yamagata Airport and another 35 minutes to Yamagata Station by shuttle bus. It takes about 45 minutes to go to Shinjo Station from Yamagata Station by Yamagata Shinkansen, and about 1 hour to Naruko Onsen Station by changing to Rikuu East Line in Shinjo.
