What a pleasure to receive a gift, especially when it’s delicious cakes!
These cakes are from Zenka Shoin, a sweet store from Tokyo specialized into sweets flavored with Japanese flavours like green tea.Let’s have a look!
The gift set is presented in a gorgeous black box made of bamboo.
What’s inside?
A beautiful set of cakes!
First there’s some dorayaki filled with red beans and chestnut chunks.
Then there’s “sweet potato”, a popular sweet made with sweet potatoes, egg yolks, sugar and butter.
The smooth texture just melts in your mouth!
Then some “baumkuchen” flavored with matcha green tea.
All the sweets are made for high grade ingredients and tasted really good.
I hope I can go to the main shop in Kyoto to taste other specialities like castella and wafers.
There’s a cafe space as well!
Cakes were so good that I’ll also try to offer some as souvenirs.
