Hi, I’m Maru-chan. I love trains so much!
Check out this photo – do you know where I am? It’s a beautiful, spacious room with a large bed… perhaps inside a hotel? Or a mansion? Actually, this is inside the Twilight Express – Japan’s overnight train. The photo with the bed is that of the suite.
It takes about 22 hours for the journey from Osaka to Sapporo. You can sleep, visit the lounge, have a meal and even shower inside the train! It’s quite popular, and hard to get reservations.
This is the lounge train car. It’s nice, spacious, and offers a relaxing space.
This is the dining car. Doesn’t it look like a high-end restaurant?
And here’s the sleeping car. You can relax as if you’re in a hotel room – with a TV too!
If you get thirsty, you can visit the dining car for a coffee break, or buy from the vending machine. Japan is famous for having vending machines everywhere… even inside the train!
