Technology never ceases to expand, now in our airports!
Japan Airlines announced a few days ago in a press release that it will start implementing Smartwatches for its boarding gate staff within a month. The tests will start at Haneda Airport Terminal 1, where the smartwatches will directly be used to ameliorate customer service and response time.
Multiple smartwatches models will be tested within this period, which will eventually lead to a big contract with one of the makers.
I believe this is great to finally bring innovation into this field, where the latest change in communication was the wireless transmitter, which a while ago as you can imagine.
More than just a communication tool, the smartwatch uses the iBeacon technology to help track the location of other attendants, very practical during emergency and times of affluence at the airport!
Looking forward to see these watches in action. Hopefully both travellers and airport staff will benefit from the change!
