I did small research about marriage proposal in Japan.
First, let’s see the proportion of Japanese who proposes before marriage!
If you look at the results of questionnaire by marriage company, among all married couples in Japan, couples that made the proposal is 84 % of all couples! Majority of marriage proposal is done by men!
By the way, some areas have less proportion of people performing marriage proposal by region.
Top 3 regions with least proportion are Fukushima Prefecture, Miyagi Prefecture and Hokkaido.All of them are located in the north of Japan!
