The amazing place to enjoy when you have no money in Japan -Siah’s Kawaii Tokyo Life Report-

Hello !! The playful Siah here again! ★★

What I am going to introduce today is something more …should I say more serious?

Yes,it’s gonna be something more but definitely interesting anyway (*^_^*)

BOOK OFF, a place where people resell their unwanted books, games devices, CDs, magazines, comics and etc.
Also a place for  you to purchase them at an extremely low prices!!

Lets see how does it look like inside BOOK OFF~(=^・^=)

1) Corners and Features of BOOK OFF

The floor directory. So many floor with different items right??

20140822-05-3

Whatever the kind of books you can think of, BOOK OFF most likely has it.

All of the books were categorized accordingly for the customers convenience.

20140822-05-4

Worried that all the books here are all in Japanese ? No worries (^_^.)

This is the foreign books corner. Don’t you think it looks more like a library than a 2nd-hand book shop?

20140822-05-5

Not a book fan ?? How about some Nintendo 3DS games ??
( Games for other game consoles such as the PSP , XBOX, Wii are also available!!)

20140822-05-6

The CD corner.
The most surprising thing is, they don’t only sell local music CDs but also all kinds of classical music, K-POP music or music of other genres.

20140822-05-7

Plenty of 2nd hand game consoles here.

The condition of the device is clearly stated on the label. So you don’t need to worry breakdowns or malfunctions.

2) Price

The biggest concern of everyone!!
Especially foreign travellers like us who are always in bigger budget constraint.
I think if you just happen to travel here randomly, you might have less interest in books in Japanese.
So I will introduce you something that you might have interest in.

English dictionary plus good writing guide of Collins.  And the price ? 400¥!
Cheaper than a bento in the convenience stores!

I actually bought this at 300¥.Recently I have to write loads of articles in English (because of Fun Japan) ((+_+)) Desperately need to brush up my English skills to serve you better LOL
.

There were also tons of fashion, beauty , nail magazines at BOOK OFF. And most of them are quite new!!
This are one of the nail magazines for Christmas last year.
I wonder if you are learning nail art or similar courses, the magazines here will definite help out much as a references of designs.
For your information, this magazine only cost 100¥!!
Incredibly cheap!!

3) Happy and satisfying moments of Siah in BOOK OFF

Hey hey ,my life is not ONLY about non stop eating yummy desserts, nor discovering pretty and cute fashion goods and keep taking selfies. I do enjoy reading!! But, it seems like I have very poor time management at the moment, no time for reading (T_T)

(Nevermind I will just act reading and send this picture to my mother saying “ Hey Mum I have been reading in the book store for the whole afternoon(^_-))

20140822-05-12

Found the CD of my recent favorite K-POP girl band. 2NE1. But the CD cost around 1900¥!
Not too cheap for me (T_T)

20140822-05-13

Should I learn more about how to be a smart girl with good manners?? (^_^.)

20140822-05-14

ViVi, my fashion bible!! I guess I just can’t live without fashion~~ ♡

My Thoughts of BOOKOFF:

First , I am deeply impressed of how BOOKOFF manage and categorize the 2nd hand books. And yet , the books here are so cheap!! I am curious of what kind of system that they implemented to create and maintain such perfect book-recycling circle.

Second, BOOKOFF is more to a bookstore to me! The books and CDs or other consoles in BOOK OFF were in such good condition that gives you the illusion that these stuffs are brand new . Also BOOKOFF is a perfect place to spend your afternoon with books.

Finally, reading really gives us superb soul satisfaction and helps us to gain knowledge! Budget and money constraint will never be an excuse anymore with the 2nd hand bookstores like BOOKOFF! Do read more and be a better person (*^。^*)!!

Let me end this article with a meaningful proverb in Japanese:

万巻の書を読み千里の道をゆく

Read thousands of books and walk(travel) millions miles for a fulfilled life!!
