Interested in Japanese crafts and traditional techniques?
Just head to 2k540 AKI-OKA Artisan, an arcade located under the train tracks between Akihabara and Okachimachi station.

2k540 AKI-OKA Artisan gathers many workshops and shops providing various traditional Japanese crafts, from leather, wood, glass, ceramic, but even bicycle parts, clothes, or jewelry.
You can find high quality made in Japan hand-crafted or order-made goods, from every range of price.
The shop “Nihon Hyakkaten” has also a very large display of interesting things and unique souvenirs.
Sometimes on weekends, you can find some events with demonstration of Japanese techniques.
There’s even workshops where you can make various funny objects by yourself!
There’s also some cafes and restaurants.
Since the arcade is covered, it’s also a nice place to walk when it’s raining.
If you plan to go visit Akihabara and then head to Okachimachi or Ueno, just take the arcade to go there.
