It literally means “really”, and could be used in the exact same way the English word is used.
1) Expressing surprise or disbelief
“I met Brad Pitt yesterday”
“Majide?!”
2) Emphasizing
“You should try go to that restaurant! It’s majide oishii!!(マジでおいしい = Really tasty)”
Believe me, you’ll hear this absolutely everywhere, especially if you’re with young people.
