From the Hachiko exit of the Shibuya Station, you will see,
People , people and people. Shibuya really does reflect how lively and hectic Tokyo is.
And there is a wall with plenty of dog prints on it. It seems like the same dog?!

If you can read Japanese , you will be able to know the name this famous dog.This dog statue can be found near the Hachiko exit. And yes,Hachiko is his name!
The Hachiko dog statue is always surrounded by many people.Japanese people often use the Hachiko Statue as the meeting point.While tourists enjoy taking pictures with it.
What makes this Hachiko dog statue so popular ?
Actually,there is a touching and inspiring real story about Hachiko with his owner.
Hachiko , the most well known dog in Japan I perhaps, was a pet of a professor of Tokyo University during the the early 19ths. At those days,Hachiko and his owner greeted each other at the Shibuya Station when they , like a daily routine.
However, the owner passed away because of some kind of critical disease. Since after, Hachiko did not stop visiting the station, but still continued his daily routine, waited for his owner to come home and greet him.
Hachiko continued his greeting routines continuously for 9 years till his death even without his owner’s presence. This remarkable action shows his faithfulness to his owner , also touched hearts of the whole Japanese nation.His loyalty became a national spirit of Japan, and will always be remembered. That is why the Japanese people built a statue in remembrance of Hachiko.
