If somebody asking you about Japanese noodle, what kind of noodle that will straight come into your mind? I bet it must be Ramen isn't it? Yep, for those who love Japan, Ramen must be one of the most famous and common dishes for them. But, beside Ramen, do you know that Japan has another kind of famous noddle like Udon and Soba.
This time I had a chance to taste Soba, a Japanese noodles made from buckwheat flour from Sagami Soba, a Japanese Soba Restaurant brand that has been operating since 1970. The restaurant is located in the food court of Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta. The stall is near with one Korean Food and Chinese Food stall.
With their slogan, No. 1 Soba Restaurant from Japan this restaurant main speciality is hot and cold noodles. They also serve three kinds of noodles, which are Soba, Udon and Ume. I asked what Ume noodle is? She said that Ume is Soba noodle that made with plum flavour on it, so it will taste a little bit sour and fresh. The colour of Ume noodle is so cute a pink one. For toppings, this restaurant serves several kinds of toppings, like beef, chicken, and seafood. Not only noodle they also have Donburi (Rice Bowl), Sushi, Tempura, and also Onigiri & Musubi.
I was craving for something hot and spicy so I decided to order Spicy Beef Soba. Since I am a big fans of Ramen, ordering Ume make me a little bit nervous at that time, plus I’m not kind of person who love to take adventure with my food. I waited for about five minutes before my meal is ready.
The Spicy Beef Soba, looks like a regular Ramen bowl for me, with beef slices, nori, and leek on top. Since I order the spicy version, so broth looked quite red enough. I took a sip of the broth and it taste fantastic. A little bit sweet and fresh, plus a nice portion of umami feel for your tongue, while firmness of Ume Soba is so lovely to chew. You are going to falling in love with the combination taste of the beef slice, hot broth and Ume itself. For those who love noodle, I bet you really have to come and try this restaurant.
This restaurant have more than 100 outlets around the world, but at the moment Sagami Restaurant just have two outlets in Indonesia, one in Plaza Senayan, Food Court and one in Aeon Mall BSD, Tangerang.
