Kamakura Japanese Cafe i believe is the first authentic Japanese cafe in Jakarta. The owner is a navite Japanese and i’m sure you will get a taste of real Japanese cuisine here. This cozy cafe started their business on 2015 in Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta Utara and still going strong till now. They even hold a cooking class from time to time, so do follow their Instagram account for the upcoming cooking class.

With no loud music inside the cafe, this place will be perfect for those who want to find somewhere peaceful for doing homeworks, reading books or even hold a client’s meeting.

This cafe really provided all the customer’s needs, they got Japanese magazine that you could read while waiting, free wifi and even electronic plugs on every table for the customers to use

Even though Kamakura is a cafe, the menu’s variation is more of a bistro. Flipping through the pages is also a fun thing because it filled with beautiful pictures!! It really takes my time to decide what to order, because i want to eat everything on the menu!
Do be aware that some of the food their serve do contain pork in it.

White Mushroom Hamburg (non halal)
I personally loved it! the mushroom sauce is so creamy with a hint of cheese. The tomato fried rice is fragrant and the egg on top is soft and fluffy. The hamburg is made from minced pork with moist and juicy textures. They also serve a spiced potato salad to come along with it.

Matcha Icecube with Fresh Milk
It consists of matcha icecubes, fresh milk and liquid sugar. Don’t pour all of the sugar in it because it will be to sweet. The matcha doesn’t taste too bitter and suitable for matcha first timer or even children.

Raspberry Black Special Pancake
The pancakes is actually their staple dish. Unlike the normal flat western pancake, their pancake is 5 cm thick and need 20 minutes to prepare. Do try their signature pancake called “Matcha style Kamakura”for those that love matcha, i unfortunately didn’t order that because i can’t ignore their dark chocolate pancake.
The texture of the pancake is so moist and you can taste and smell the chocolate in every bite. The raspberry is sour and its compliment the slight bitterness of the chocolate.
