Tamagotchi Collaboration! Event Report and Highlights of Sagamiko Illumillion, One of the Kanto Region's Three Great Illuminations
At the adventure resort "Sagamiko MORI MORI," which is less than an hour from central Tokyo, the largest illumination event in the Kanto region, "Sagamiko Illumillion," featuring 6 million lights, is being held from Saturday, November 15, 2025, to Sunday, May 10, 2026. This year’s highlight is the collaboration area with the hugely popular digital pet "Tamagotchi," which is experiencing a revival thanks to the Heisei retro trend. The area is called "Discovered at Sagamiko! Tamagotchi’s Sparkling Illumination!" In this article, a FUN! JAPAN editor will give an on-site report from the press preview, sharing the charm of the illuminations and attractions.

Kanto’s Top 3 Illuminations: "Sagamiko Illumillion"
"Sagamiko Illumillion" is a massive illumination event featuring 6 million lights spread across a vast 40,000㎡ area, making use of the natural slopes and elevation changes. It creates a magical atmosphere you can’t experience in the city.
In addition to enjoying the illuminations, you can also experience 11 different night attractions surrounded by lights. At the central restaurant "Wild Dining," you can enjoy a meal, while the adjacent day-use hot spring facility "Lake Sagami Onsen Ururi" offers hot springs. The outdoor facility "PICA Sagami Lake" lets you enjoy BBQ, campfires, and even stay overnight, making it a spot you can enjoy all day long.
By the way, there are many illumination spots in the Kanto region, but "Sagamiko Illumillion" has been recognized as one of the "Top 3 Illuminations in Kanto." This means it was selected by the Night View Tourism Convention & Bureau as one of the representative winter illuminations in Kanto. This year, it was also chosen for the "International Illumination Award 2025."

Take Pictures with Tamagotchi at the Illumination Photo Spots
When you enter the park and take the lift up to the mountaintop area, you'll find the "Discovered at Lake Sagami! Tamagotchi Sparkling Illumination!" area. An exciting story unfolds, where the Tamagotchi characters arrive at "Lake Sagami Illumillion" riding UFOs and shooting stars, all brought to life with balloons and illuminations.
The Tamagotchi characters are decorated with colorful lights.
There are also plenty of cute photo spots, such as "Mimitchi's Teacup" and "Furawatchi and Memetchi's Ribbon Stand."
At the press preview, from left to right, Kuchipatchi, Mametchi, and Memetchi welcomed visitors.
As you go further in, you'll come across the "Tamagotchi Sparkling Museum."
There are illuminations and objects inspired by various types of Tamagotchi devices, which is a real treat for me as someone who actually owns a Tamagotchi device!
The background is also beautifully decorated with Tamagotchi device illuminations.
There was also an illumination of the currently popular "Tamagotchi Paradise." If you go even further, you'll find "Mametchi and Kuchipatchi's Tamatomo Lift."

Collaboration Attractions Too! "Tamagotchi Starry Sky Pedal" and "Tamagotchi Sparkling Ferris Wheel"
Illuminations aren't the only highlight, you can also enjoy two attractions with Tamagotchi themes. This time, I actually tried out the thrilling "Tamagotchi Starry Sky Pedal."
On this attraction, you ride a bicycle and enjoy sky cycling 370 meters above ground, looking down at the illuminations spread out below you.
Each ride is decorated with Tamagotchi designs, making them super cute.
When you actually ride it, it really feels like you're walking in the sky! The view of the illuminations below as you pedal is stunning and truly moving.

During the collaboration period, the restaurant "Wild Dining" offers 10 different collaboration menu items, each with a novelty gift!

It's Not Just the Tamagotchi Area! Recommended Attractions at Sagamiko Illumillion
Besides the Tamagotchi collaboration, Illumillion is packed with charm! Here are some of the recommended attractions that impressed me when I visited.
Newly Opened This Year! "Magical Wave," a 100-Meter-Long Slider
The giant tubing slide "Magical Wave" is an attraction where you ride a special tire and slide down a steep slope about 100 meters long with a height difference of about 15 meters.
The tire floats and spins, so the unpredictable movements made it incredibly thrilling and exhilarating!
Also, as you slide down, you can see the course brightly illuminated, which was absolutely beautiful. Be sure to give it a try.
A Variety of Illumination! The Magical "Tunnel of Light" and "Forest of Light"
Sagamiko Illumillion features many different types of illuminations, but my favorites were especially the "Tunnel of Light" and the "Forest of Light".
The 150-meter-long "Tunnel of Light" is a large tunnel surrounded by 360° of illuminations, giving you a mysterious sensation as if you are being drawn in.
The "Forest of Light" features countless lanterns hanging overhead, their gently swaying lights creating a truly magical and romantic atmosphere. The area is quiet, making you feel as if you are really in a forest.
"Otoillumi": Illumination Show Featuring Lights, Video, and Music by Popular Japanese Artists
After 5:00 PM, every 15 minutes, you can enjoy an illumination show set to songs by five popular Japanese artists, perfect for winter nights.
Centered around a 15-meter-tall symbolic tree, the area is decorated with objects like a street corner phone booth and giant letter-shaped installations, creating a highly photogenic space.
The artists and songs featured are as follows:
- Crystal Kay: Nando Demo (何度でも)
- GRe4N BOYZ: Hoshikage no Yell (星影のエール)
- Novelbright: Tsukimisou (ツキミソウ)
- Motohiro Hata: Ai (アイ)
