Ariake Colosseum, Ariake Gymnastics Centre and Ariake Arena!  Odaiba Ariake Area's Sports Stadium

Ariake, located in the center of the Tokyo Bay Area. This is a new spot where Tokyo's old and loved culture together with the world's global culture meets and has been being developed at a fast pace in recent years. Here you can experience sports and cutting-edge live entertainment, with seasonal events and many other unique and interesting events throughout the year.

In this article we are going to be introducing 3 of these areas, being Ariake Tennis Park (Ariake Colosseum), Ariake Gymnastics Center, and Ariake Arena.

Ariake Tennis Park (Ariake Colosseum)

Ariake Tennis Park (Ariake Colosseum)

Ariake Tennis Park is linked to Ariake Colosseum. It has been used as an international tennis court since 1987. With an openable roof system in place, it spans over 1,153 square meters and can seat over 10,000 people.

Other than tennis, sports such as volleyball, finals of the Japanese pro basketball (BJ League), martial arts, and live concerts take place here.

Furthermore, to house other large sporting events, a new outdoor show court has been built as well as an indoor court.

Ariake Gymnastics Centre

Ariake Gymnastics Centre is an international centre for large-scale sporting events that can hold over 12,000 people. Its wooden roof and squared timber is very impactful.

It is planned to be used for important sporting events such as gymnastic competitions, rhythmic sports gymnastics, trampolining, and many more. After the sporting events have finished, it is planned to have its seating removed and used as an event space for Tokyo's new sports and culture.

Ariake Arena

Ariake Arena

Ariake Arena is a multipurpose arena created for large-scale events in 2020. It can hold over 15,000 people and is planned to be used for indoor sporting events as well as international sporting events.

A special mention is deserved for its traditional Japanese "Curved" roof. Both the arena itself and its concourse is made using wood, which further shows Japan's "wood culture".

Large-scale events such as volleyball, wheelchair basketball, and more are planned to be held here. After the events have ended it can also be used as an event space for sports and culture.
