 Sapporo Lilac Spring Festival

Japanese Spring is normally associated with Sakura (Cherry Blossom). Sapporo Lilac Spring Festival usually marks the end of the cold climate and the starting of the warmer season. The festival is usually held near the end of spring, second half of May. Odori Park 

Held for more than 1 week, normally at the 2nd half of May, the festival held here hand a wide range of entertainment, from lilac exhibition, music festival, food stalls, and many more. There are about 400 lilac trees. Due to its location right in the center of the city of Sapporo, it will easily get crowded.

Kawashimo Park

Having 1700 lilac trees with 200 varieties of lilac from across the globe, Kawashimo Park offers a better enjoyment if you are really into flowers, especially lilacs. The festival held here is usually short compared to the one in Odori Park. Kawashimo Park held the event for 2 days, and usually in early of June. The activities associated during the festival are mostly related to the lilacs.
