Furano has a number of beautiful flower fields. Notorious for its lavender farms, Furano in its peak season, has its flower fields coloured in purple. Some of the farms have different plants planted alongside the lavenders, that grants variety of colours in the area. Mostly frequented by the locals and foreign visitors alike, to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the place during its season.
Japanese And Tourists Coming to Flower Fields in Furano
An area in Hokkaido, known as Furano (富良野), best known for its flower fields, namely their lavender fields, attract a number of visitors local and foreign alike, especially when they are in full bloom. It was once functioned for its agricultural products, but due to decrease in demands in the 60's and 70's, it shifted its direction to become a tourist attraction.
The best time to go see the lavender at its best moment are in mid of July to early of August, when they are in full bloom. The lavender usually starts to bloom in late June. The temperate around the season is around 19 to 25-degree Celsius. It is comfortably warm, when the sky is clear, so casual summer clothes should be okay.
The easiest access is by train, and during this season, a special train Furano-Biei Norokko will be operating on the Furano Line, and it will make a stop at the Lavender-Batake (Lavender Farm) station (normally the train won’t be making a stop at this station).

Farm Tomita with Lots of Treats!
This is the best spot to view Lavender. Drop by Farm Tomita and see the various colours of various flowers, visit the houses and workshops within the farm, and learn more about lavenders application in many genres. And forget not, try the lavender soft-serve ice cream.

Choei Lavender Farm & Nakafurano Flower Park
Choei Lavender Farm and Nakafuro Flower Park just sits side by side. What is special about Choei Lavender Farm is the use of ski lift riding up and down the slope of lavender field. In winter, this slope will become a ski resort. Take a ride on the ski lift, and enjoy the view of the flower fields from the slope above.

Saika No Sato Lavender Farm
This farm is small and less crowded when compared to Farm Tomita, but it is a nice place to relax and to enjoy the lavenders during the season.

Hinode Park
On top of this hill, there is an observation deck for you to see the town of Kamifurano and also the flower fields from above. You will need to use the steps, surrounded by the lavender and colourful flowers, and the view from above is worth the stair-climbing effort.

Flower Land Kamifurano
This place offers you a chance to ride on the carts pulled by their tractor through their farm, for 500 yen (around RM19) for adults. You can also experience the lavender cutting, flower pressing, and other handmade experience, no more than 1000 yen (around RM38) per person for every experience.

Tomita Lavender East
This lavender farm is operated by Farm Tomita, and this lavender farm is the large-most lavender fields in Furano, which spans about 14 hectares. You can also ride on the lavender bus, a carriage also pulled by a tractor, where it will offer you a 15 to 20-minutes tour around the lavender field for 200 yen (around RM7) for adults.
