There are permanently exhibited art pieces in the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, and some can be enjoyed by free of charge. The most famous of these exhibits is the “Swimming Pool” by Leandro Erlich. Looking down at the choppy water in the pool, it looks as if it's filled deeply with water, but actually, it's just about 10 centimeters deep on clear glass. Below the glass is a light blue area that the viewers enter. It is free of charge to look down at the pool from above, but you have to pay if you want to enter the underside of the pool water.
