is quite isolated, not so may people know about this island that has population not more than 15000 people. However, in fact, Yakushima is an island in Japan that has has the most rainfall throughout the year which causing this area covered by various vegetation types of subtropical rainforest which said, it is very beautiful to be enjoyed.
The only main destination for tourists in this island in general : Joumonsugi, an old
Japanese cedar tree of 2700-7000 years old and approximately 30 meters in diameter.
Because of its position in the middle of the island and the lack of transportation in this island is not easy to see this sacred tree. Visitors have to climb approximately 5 hours (round trip = 10 hours) through relatively an uneasy trail.
Because it takes a full day of climbing, it is advisable to stay in a hotel
at the island. Besides, please do not forget to prepare a raincoat and boots for hiking in
a preparation when it rains.
