FUN! JAPAN Terms of Use
“FUN! JAPAN” collectively means a project (“FUN! JAPAN Project”) that offers services including the operation of the FUN! JAPAN website (including, but not limited to, the web domain fun-japan.jp/intl which may later be revised or changed for any reason) (the “Site”), as well as services provided on the Site (including, but not limited to, provision of information and social media) and other related services in order to draw interest to Japan by introducing Japanese products and services to consumers.
The governing body of FUN! JAPAN, JTB Corp. offers services and information to its customers in accordance with the following Terms of Use (the “Terms of Use”). “FUN! JAPAN“, “we”, “us” and “our” hereby refers to the FUN! JAPAN Project, the Site or JTB Corp., individually or collectively, as implied by the context.
Please read the following Terms of Use carefully. By using or accessing FUN! JAPAN, you, as customer, are deemed to have agreed to the Terms of Use below. Should you access or purchase a product or service from our partners through FUN! JAPAN presently or in the future, you are also deemed to have agreed to the terms of use and guidelines of that partner at that time regardless of whether they are specified on the Site. In the event of a conflict between the terms of use and guidelines for the products and services of our partner(s) and these Terms of Use, these Terms of Use shall prevail.

Accounts
When registering authentication information such as a password to use the Site, you, as a customer, are responsible for carefully managing that information to prevent unauthorized use. When an activity is carried out using your registered authentication information (including, but not limited to, cases in which activity is carried out after the input authentication information and registered authentication information have been confirmed to match), FUN! JAPAN will deem this as an act conducted by you. You, the customer, may not allow another individual to use your authentication information, nor lend, transfer, or sell your authentication information to another individual.
FUN! JAPAN reserves the right to suspend or delete your account, regardless of whether prior notification was given.
In addition, you are responsible for all acts carried out via your account. If you suspect, or are aware of, your account having been used without your consent, please immediately contact FUN! JAPAN.
FUN! JAPAN does not assume any responsibility for the violations described above made by you, mistakes in managing or using authentication information, or damage caused by account suspension or deletion, regardless of whether by intent or error.
Changes in registration
If there has been a change in your registered information, such as your email address, you are responsible for notifying FUN! JAPAN of the change. If you are unable to utilize our services because you fail to provide or update your registered information, or in the case of any kind of damage arising, FUN! JAPAN does not assume any responsibility for damage incurred.
Reviews, comments, communications, and other content
You can submit comments, photos, and other content, or suggestions, ideas, opinions, questions, and other information, etc. (including reviews, comments, and all other permissible communication on the Site) in regard to articles on the Site. However, the kinds of posts noted in each of the following items are not permitted. FUN! JAPAN reserves the right to delete or edit content posted in each item, but is under no obligation to regularly check posted content.
- Content that infringes on the rights or interests of FUN! JAPAN, other customers, or third parties
- Content that is false, misleading, or inaccurate
- Content that includes, depicts, or promotes illegal acts, threats, abuse, harassment, slander, fraud, violation of another individual’s privacy, attack, violence, obscenity, sexual expression, prejudice, discrimination, suicide, self-harm, substance abuse, and violation of public order and morals
- Content that amounts to advertising products or services (however, this excludes content that has received prior approval from FUN! JAPAN)
- Acts of political or religious activity (however, this excludes content that has received prior approval from FUN! JAPAN)
- Spam activity, including unsolicited email or spam
- Content including a computer virus designed or intended to obstruct, disable, damage, restrict, or interfere with software, hardware, or appropriate functions of telecommunications equipment, or other computer codes, files, worms, logic bombs, or other programs equivalent to these
- Content purporting to be from a third party, including an employee or representative of FUN! JAPAN
- Other content deemed by FUN! JAPAN as inappropriate based on rational grounds
Unless otherwise explicitly stated on the Site, by submitting a post, you automatically and gratuitously grant FUN! JAPAN the perpetual, worldwide, unlimited, irrevocable, and transferable right to duplicate, distribute, adapt or otherwise modify, translate, publicly transmit (including making public transmission available), screen, display, transfer, lend, publish, create derivative works and other uses, as well as granting licenses to third parties for such uses, within the scope necessary to provide functions on the Site, improve the Site, and prevent unauthorized or prohibited activities. You may not exercise your moral rights as author in relation to your posted content against FUN! JAPAN, affiliated companies of FUN! JAPAN, other customers, clients, or other entities specified by FUN! JAPAN.
You assume all responsibility for checking and ensuring that the content you post does not infringe on the intellectual property rights such as copyrights, image rights, and other rights or interests of a third party (including, but not limited to, breach of confidentiality and defamation), that the content is accurate, does not violate these Terms of Use, and does not cause damage to a third party or group.
FUN! JAPAN does not guarantee the accurate documentation or preservation of the information and materials you send or post. In addition, FUN! JAPAN does not assume any responsibility for the loss, modification, or leaking of such information or materials. FUN! JAPAN reserves the right to manage, edit, and delete content, but is under no obligation to do so.
FUN! JAPAN points
FUN! JAPAN points (“FP”) can only be utilized for certain uses specified by FUN! JAPAN, such as applying for campaigns on the Site and viewing members-only articles on the Site.
FP can be acquired by becoming a registered member of the Site, entering drawings, answering questionnaires, participating in campaigns, and through other methods specified by FUN! JAPAN. FP may not be purchased through means such as money or cryptocurrency.
Unless otherwise specified, FP are valid for 2 years from the day of the account holder’s last log in. If the account has been cancelled, the FP acquired by the cancelled account will become invalid. FP are awarded to a specific account and can only be used by that account. They may not be transferred to another account. FP may not be transferred to another point program. FP may not be exchanged for cash or other points.
Should the Site be shut down, should the FUN! JAPAN project end, should your account be deleted at your request or at the discretion of FUN! JAPAN, or should FUN! JAPAN discontinue the FP program, all FP will become invalid. Even in such instances, FUN! JAPAN is under no obligation to provide compensation for the FP you possess at that point.
Notifications via electronic communications
You hereby agree to receive communications from FUN! JAPAN (including notifications regarding its operation, advertisements, or communications which may be given as part of services provided by FUN! JAPAN) via communications posted in appropriate places on the Site, email, or other means deemed suitable by FUN! JAPAN.
Intellectual property rights
The intellectual property rights, such as copyrights, and all other rights related to all content provided through the Site (this refers to characters, graphics, logos, button icons, images, videos, audio clips, digitally downloaded materials, edited data, etc.; “Content”) and all other rights are the property of FUN! JAPAN or entities specified by FUN! JAPAN. Your use of the Site does not imply any transfer or permission to use intellectual property rights, such as copyrights, or any other rights related to the Site or its Content, nor that you acquire any rights to the Content of FUN! JAPAN or a third party. You may not engage in any acts that infringe on the intellectual property rights and other rights of FUN! JAPAN or a third party, such as reprinting or duplicating information, images, etc. provided through the Site without permission.
License and access to the Site
FUN! JAPAN and entities providing Content grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-commercial personal license to use the Site under the condition that you comply with these Terms of Use (license transfer and sublicensing are not permitted). This license may not be made available for commercial use, secondary use, or use for data collection and extraction tools (data mining, robots, etc.).
FUN! JAPAN and its licensors, suppliers, publishers, right holders, or other content holders reserve all rights not explicitly granted by these Terms of Use or other terms. Without explicit written consent from FUN! JAPAN, you may not duplicate, reproduce, copy, sell, or resell all or any part of the Site, nor access or utilize it in any other way for commercial purposes.
Without explicit written consent from FUN! JAPAN, you may not place logos or other valuable information (including, but not limited to, images, characters, page layouts, and formatting) owned by FUN! JAPAN in a frame for the purpose of capturing such information or using it for other frame technologies.
In addition to these Terms of Use, you must comply with relevant laws, government and ministerial ordinances, rules, regulations, and directives.

FUN! JAPAN shall not be liable in any way to you for any damages incurred by providing this Site or damages caused by an act carried out by you or FUN! JAPAN regarding use of the Site (including, but not limited to, damage caused by a defect/breakdown of the Site, damage caused by negligence on your part while using the Site, damage caused by changes to/interruption to/suspension of the Site, damage due to commercial disputes, and damage caused by use of Content, etc.).
Regardless of these Terms of Use and other provisions that absolve FUN! JAPAN from liability for damages, in accordance with the application of the Consumer Contract Act and other grounds, if FUN! JAPAN is liable for damages to you due to default on a debt caused by error by FUN! JAPAN (excluding gross negligence) or illegal activity, FUN! JAPAN’s responsibility shall be limited to direct and ordinary damages that actually occurred, and limited to a maximum of 100,000 yen.
Exclusion of antisocial forces
You shall declare and guarantee the following in each item.
- You are not an antisocial force.
- You are not being controlled by antisocial forces.
- You are not utilizing the influence of antisocial forces, not using antisocial forces for the purpose of unlawful gain, nor engaged in antisocial forces for the purpose of using the influence of antisocial forces.
- You are not providing funds or favors to antisocial forces, nor involved in any unfair preferential treatment.
Governing law
The governing law for these Terms of Use shall be the laws of the nation of Japan.
Disputes
The Tokyo District Court shall be the court of exclusive jurisdiction of the first instance for the Site and any dispute related to the Site.
Revision and severability
FUN! JAPAN reserves the right to revise the Site or these Terms of Use at any time. Should any provision of these Terms of Use be made invalid, other provisions of these Terms of Use shall remain completely valid.
Governing Body
The Site is managed and operated by JTB Corp. Regarding the rights, privileges and disclaimers held and exercisable by FUN! JAPAN under these Terms of Use, JTB Corp. may exercise or insist on such rights, privileges and disclaimers.

Fun Japan Communications, Ltd. (hereinafter, the “Company”) handles and protects personal information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures, and its own policy on the protection of personal information as follows. Before providing the Company with your personal information, please review the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter, the “Policy”). 4. Outsourcing of customers’ personal information

The collection, use, and provision of personal information are managed and protected strictly within the scope of legitimate services under the supervision of an information security manager appointed in accordance with the Privacy Policy of the operating company, the Company. The Company reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of this Policy to comply with the Acts and applicable laws and regulations, and for other purposes as reasonably deemed necessary.
